FAQs
General Information
What is the focus of the counselling?
At the heart of my work lies the connection between physical and emotional changes during the menopause. Many complaints cannot be explained purely medically or purely psychologically. My counselling is about understanding these interactions, making sense of symptoms and challenges, and developing new perspectives – grounded in medical expertise and guided by psychological sensitivity. How does the counselling differ from a standard gynaecological consultation?
In a typical gynaecological consultation, there is often little time for the personal and psychosocial questions that accompany the menopause. My counselling provides space for these issues, while also placing physical changes in their wider context.Who can take part in the counselling?
The service is open to all women in the pre-, peri- and postmenopause. It is intended both for women experiencing current difficulties and for those who wish to clarify questions, gain orientation, or develop a new perspective on this stage of life. In addition, I place a particular emphasis on supporting women with an expatriate background or from abroad who are living in Germany. From my own long-standing experience as an expat and in medical practice, I know that in such situations the challenges are often more intense, and that a sensitive, culturally aware approach can be especially valuable.
Process and Organisation
What can I expect in the first session?
For our first meeting I deliberately take more time. The aim is to get to know your personal situation, understand your questions, and put both physical and emotional aspects into context. On this basis we can work together to outline possible next steps. How long does a counselling session last?
The initial consultation lasts 60 minutes, allowing us to discuss your situation calmly and in depth. All further consultations are 50 minutes long. How much does the counselling cost?
The initial consultation (60 minutes) is priced with 150€ and all follow-up consultations (50 minutes) are 125€ or 80€ for 30 minutes . The counselling is offered on a self-pay basis. Payment is made by bank transfer upon invoice.Where does the counselling take place?
Counselling can take place either in my practice in Berlin-Charlottenburg or online via video call. Both formats are carried out in a protected, confidential, and personal setting. In which language is the counselling offered?
The counselling can be conducted in either German or English – whichever is more comfortable for you. Switching between the two is also possible at any time. What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you are unable to attend an appointment, I kindly ask you to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. This ensures reliable scheduling. In the case of late cancellations or non-attendance, the full fee will be charged. What should I do in an emergency?
My services are limited to planned counselling appointments. In acute medical emergencies, please contact a gynaecological practice, your GP, or an emergency department. In acute psychological crises, please contact a psychiatric clinic or emergency psychiatric service.
Legal Framework
Is this a medical treatment or counselling?
My service is a medical-psychological counselling offer. It focuses on the interplay of physical, emotional, and social aspects of the menopause. The counselling is based on my specialist medical expertise and long-standing professional experience, but it does not replace a regular gynaecological consultation or emergency care. It is intended as a complementary, in-depth counselling service. What applies to online sessions abroad?
If the counselling involves medical advice, this can legally only take place if you are physically located in Germany during the session. Purely psychosocial counselling, however, may also be offered online while you are abroad. In both cases, your concerns will be treated confidentially and professionally.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
Is my personal data secure?
Yes. Your personal data are processed exclusively in accordance with the relevant legal requirements (GDPR, BDSG) and are handled in strict confidence. Online consultations are conducted via a data protection-compliant platform with servers located in Germany. Is the counselling subject to confidentiality?
Yes. As a licensed physician I am bound by medical confidentiality. Everything you share with me remains strictly confidential.
